Kimberly Ballard MD women's care group
 
Dr. Kimberly Ballard attended Ohio State University. She has her undergraduate degree in molecular genetics. She also received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She completed her residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Her internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Ballard is with the Blount Memorial Hospital and UT Medical Center. And is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
 
Dr. Ballard has been with Women’s Care Group for more than 10 years. She enjoys being able to care for women from their early years to their elderly ones. Providing them professional and personal direction and insight along the way. Dr. Ballard is also trained in using the da Vinci Surgical System for non-invasive surgeries.
 
Dr. Ballard has two children. She likes to read medical mysteries and enjoys snow skiing and playing trumpet in her church orchestra.
Kimberly Collins MD Women's Care Group

Dr. Kimberly Wilder Collins is a Diplomate with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she received her bachelor’s degree in zoology.  She completed her medical degree and residency at the University of of Tennessee, Memphis. She is a member of the North American Menopause Society and American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Collins is also board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Collins has been with Women’s Care Group for more than 20 years. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, working with them through each stage of life.

Dr. Collins met her husband, a pediatrician, in medical school.  She has two grown children, Emily and Ward. She enjoys reading for pleasure, cooking and baking, and traveling. She is a member of Ekklesia Blount Church where she serves as an elder.

John McAmus Women's Care Group
 
Dr. John Carl McAmis, III, completed his undergraduate degree in zoology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. Where he also completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. McAmis is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. And is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
 
Dr. McAmis has been with Women’s Care Group since 1983. While Dr. McAmis enjoys seeing patients of all ages, he has many patients who have been with him his entire career at the clinic. “A lot of my patients are women we’ve delivered…are daughters of the folks we delivered…even grandchildren of women who are our patients. You see people you can sit down and talk with. You see them for years, and they become like family.”
 
Dr. McAmis has a wife and two children. Dr. McAmis’ father was a woodworker. While he couldn’t convince his son to choose a career in woodworking, he did pass along an appreciation for the outdoors. Dr. McAmis enjoys any time he can spend outside. He’s also an avid reader of American colonial history.
Richard Metelka MD Women's Care Group Maryville
Dr. Richard C. Metelka completed his undergraduate degree at Middle Tennessee State University. He attended medical school and completed his internship and residency at the University of Tennessee. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. And is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association, the Blount County Medical Association and the East Tennessee Ob/Gyn Society. Dr. Metelka is with Blount Memorial Hospital. And is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
 
Dr. Metelka has been with Women’s Care Group for more than 27 years. He enjoys women’s health but also the obstetrics side. “Obstetrics is very family oriented. And a happy environment for extending family traditions and life together.” Dr. Metelka has seen the advancement of technology in gynecology.
 
Dr. Metelka has a wife and four children and one grandchild. He takes great pleasure in the outdoors, including fishing, hiking or camping in the Smoky Mountains. He is a board member of the Great Smoky Mountain Council and the Boy Scouts, and is a commercial-rated pilot.
Patrick Morgan MD Women's Care Group Maryville
 
Dr. Patrick L. Morgan received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University, in Auburn, Alabama. He then attended medical school at the University of Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his internship in obstetrics at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Dr. Morgan is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association. The Blount County Medical Association. And the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. Dr. Morgan is with Blount Memorial Hospital, where he is the current Vice Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
 
Dr. Morgan has been with Women’s Care Group for more than 22 years. He performs surgeries with the low invasive robotic da Vinci Surgical System. He has also seen how new technology has benefited the obstetrics side as well. Improving the odds of finding high-risk babies and seeing ultrasounds. It changed from looking “like snow on your TV”, to crystal clear images.
 
Dr. Morgan has a wife and six children. He enjoys photography and photo editing, examples of which are on display at the Women’s Care Group in Maryville. Dr. Morgan also likes to read science fiction and was the winner at a writing conference of the best opening chapter to a book.
Julie Turner MD Women's Care Group
Dr. Julie Turner completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry at the University of Tennessee. She attended medical school and completed her residency. In both obstetrics/gynecology and general surgery. She attended James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. And also the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. And is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Turner has served as both the Vice Chief and Chief of the Department of Ob/Gyn at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee.
 
Dr. Turner has worked with Women’s Care Group since 2005. But joining the field of obstetrics and gynecology was not her first choice when she started medical school. “When I began actually doing the rotations, I found that I loved the variety of ob/gyn. I loved the birth, I loved getting to know your patients, and I loved getting to focus on one specialty.” Dr. Turner extends that same passion for her specialty to the care and attention she gives each of her patients. She values the importance of sitting down and talking with each patient. “Caring for my patients means I know their individual needs and concerns. I address what is best practices, based on what research has shown is most helpful.” Dr. Turner believes her role as a physician is to act as a guide and a resource. Enabling patients to find happier, healthier lives regardless of their age or stage in life.
 
Dr. Turner has a husband and four children. “Work is pretty quiet in comparison to home,” she laughs. “But they’re good kids. For the most part, I relate to a lot of my patients. I have the same struggle with motherhood, career, life…. Family is one of the most important things we have. And that’s it — to not lose yourself in all that, to do something for yourself and not for everyone else.”
Annie Tensen Women's Care Group Maryville
Dr. Annie Tensen-Johnson joined Women’s Care Group in 2016.  Dr. Johnson graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Northwestern College of Iowa.  She completed her doctorate of osteopathic medicine (DO) at Des Moines University. Then went on to spend four years in Pittsburgh, PA. Where she completed her residency training at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital. 
 
She is a member of several medical organizations. Including the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. And the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
 
Dr. Johnson chose obstetrics and gynecology because she wanted to care for women in all stages of their lives She loves getting to know her patients and working with them to provide evidence based treatment.  She has a passion for empowering and bringing women together.
 
Specific professional areas of interest. Include long-acting reversible contraception and abnormal pap smears. Also colposcopy, infertility, menopause and hormone replacement therapy.
 
Dr. Johnson has a husband and has a dog named Maggie May. She loves spending time outdoors and traveling with her husband.  She enjoys yoga and fitness, cooking new recipes and spending time with family and friends.
Melissa Lewis-Beeler Women's Care Group
Melissa Lewis-Beeler received both her B.S and M.S. degrees in nursing. She attended the University of Tennessee. And is a certified Registered Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Melissa is also a member of the Tennessee Nurses Association. The American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners. And the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.
 
Melissa has been with Women’s Care Group for almost 10 years in Feb 2018. Her special interests include adolescent gynecology, contraception and family planning. Also high-risk obstetrics, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), infertility, nutrition, obesity, and weight loss.
 
She has three children and “loves, loves, loves” Disneyworld.
